It's Love's Day

.......  Day of the Feast of Saint Valentine,(popularly called Valentine's Day) is a celebration observed on February 14 each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it is not a public holiday in most of them.(I wonder why it is not since love is universal).

A possible origin of the widespread use of hearts on St. Valentine's Day was when the Saint cut hearts from parchment to remind these men(soldiers and persecuted Christians) of their vows and God’s love.
In Ancient Rome, Lupercalia, observed February 13–15, was an archaic rite connected to fertility. Lupercalia was a festival local to the city of Rome. The more general Festival of Juno Februa, meaning "Juno the purifier "or "the chaste Juno", was celebrated on February 13–14. Pope Gelasius I (492–496) abolished Lupercalia. Some researchers have theorized that Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with the celebration of the Purification of Mary in February 14 and claim a connection to the 14th century's connotations of romantic love, but there is no historical indication that he ever intended such a thing.

As you celebrate with roses, cards, watching movies and in all the styles and ways you want to colour your val's day understand that it is love that is being celebrated. It transcends you and your lover, extends it outward!
Look for one who deserve love but have not felt it before. let's celebrate it like the old Saint did with persecuted saints and brave men. let's celebrate love with inner city kids. Love is for the giving. It's Love's day.......
Happy Valentine's Day!
