Milestone On The Highway
*Milestone on the highway tells us how near we are to the nearest town on our journey to the destination. They also tell us how far we have come. When we look at them veer the window of the moving vehicle, those numbers on them tell us much more.
Milestones are constructed to provide reference points along the road. This can be used to reassure travellers that the proper path is being followed, and to indicate either distance travelled or the remaining distance to a destination. This term is sometimes used to denote a location on a road even if no physical sign is present.
Milestones were originally stone obelisks– made from granite, marble, or whatever local stone was available – and later concrete posts. They were widely used by Roman Empire road builders and were an important part of any Roman road network: the distance travelled per day was only a few miles in some cases. The first Roman milestones appeared on the Appian way. Milestone" was erected to mark the presumed centre of the empire: this milestone has since been lost. The Golden Milestone inspired the Zero Milestone in Washington, D.C., intended as the point from which all road distances in the United States should be reckoned.
On our journey on the highway of destiny, providence sends special people whose words have set us in course on or in the way we should go. They have been there. They told us how far we have come when we met them.
Providence has brought me Mr. Germans Abubakar( who is presently a PA to a serving senator),Late Mr. M.C Onwordi( who taught me how to read well) and the interesting Lawal Ghazali. All these milestones have taught me how to write my thoughts. "I can stop asking me: what if I didn't meet these milestones?"
Who are the milestones in your life? Who words are the beacon that directed or are still directing you? Take time to remember these milestones. They are the one who brought you this far in this journey of destiny. Remember and send aword for them!
