#IstandwithAhmed
The Internet went agog about with the story of Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year-old Muslim student who was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to school.
The clock that prompted the school's call to the police — teachers thought it looked like a bomb — consisted of a circuit board and a power supply wired to a digital display inside a metal pencil case, according to The Dallas Morning News, which first reported the freshman's arrest.
The police decided not to press charges against the high-school student, who had been proud to show off his engineering achievement to his teachers.
The hashtag #IStandWithAhmed has gone viral since the teen's release from custody, and Obama even tweeted an invite to bring the clock to the White House.
Now here's the good part:
The news got on social media and people from all over the world condemned the act and gave massive support to Ahmed for his ingenuity. But it didn't end there.
Ahmed got shout-outs from President Obama, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg invited him to Facebook. Ahmed has also received invitations to intern at Twitter and Reddit, been offered a seat at the Google science fair and a scholarship to NASA's space camp - just to name a few. Thanks to his teacher!
But what if Ahmed's teacher had not called the Police on him? Ahmed's clock and 13 other inventions by him may have gone unnoticed. The world may not have known there was a 14 year old genius somewhere in a Texas high school.
I dare say it's the same way with you. You might have face rejection from many employers,or even from the girl of your dream. But you cannot blame them, after all, they might not have been the right people for you.
You may not have built a digital clock like Ahmed, but you have good intentions; you even support your sibling through school and today they are responsible and doing very well; You have also helped your friend during her wedding preparation, now she is happily married and people around give you that look that says "why are you still unmarried?!" You have done a thousand and one other great things but no one knows. Relax! Your best has just begun. Look into the mirror, give that swagger that only a Queen can do. Smile and believe just like Ahmed all misfortune is for a greater fortune.
The world will celebrate you soon! Misfortunes are fortunes too, if only we can see tomorrow. Delays are not denials.
