When we talk about carrying things to the end there are 3 kind of people in the world.
The first type are dreamers and talkers. They begin with huge enthusiasm. But when they encounter the real world and the toughness of their job in bringing a project to an end they peter out. They have half finished job everywhere.
The second type are those who bring whatever they do to the end because they have to or because they can manage the effort. They usually finish with less enthusiasm than they started out. The end is usually seen hurried and patched.
The third type are those who understand the end of something has inordinate importance to people. When setbacks come they stay patient and think rationality. They plan not only to the end but to past it to the aftermath. They create things that last.
I advice you become the third type in your assignment, projects, argument and so on.
