Create Impact
Wherever you are, be there! Get involve. Don't just pass by, leave a mark. As a young boy, I remember every evening on my street there was this short guy that strolls down my street with a beautiful tall girl. Every evening at about 5pm daily we'll all gather at our various verandah and windows just to see him walk his "walk". He walks with panache. He flung his strides wide with a bent shoulder, and swing the girl's arm in a motion the peacock will envy. "Burujaga!" we hailed him as he walk pass each of our houses, and he waves at each us. His gait glows my street. Soon every young boy on my street soon began Burujaga's stylish walk. Our parents will smack us, warn us sternly not to walk like he walks, but trust teenage rebellion, we soon set our schools agog with the new gait.
Now I fully understand what he did. He just didn't pass by, he left a mark. How can you come to the world and people didn't know you are around. Notoriety or popularity be one. Hitler was known, just as Mother Teresa was known.
When you come to an environment and you think there is nothing you could contribute: break glass and let them remember you as that boy that broke the school's window. Let the world around you know you came.
I believe in virtues and encourage it. But you see, if virtues won't win you being know, feign a vice and afterwards profess that you have repented. I am not preaching violence nor encouraging hypocrisy rather I'm asking you to make the impact that last your way of living. You see the sight organ leaves much impression on the other sense organs. People hardly forget impact, soon they describe you with the impact you make.
At work outdo what you are expected to do. Surpass your target. Let them know when you leave them they have lost something extraordinary. Be the one they always call whenever they want to get it done well and rightly.
When you walk pass a street let them know you passed. Like a lion walking down the street, make heads turn your way. Walk with panache. Have signature to all you do. Give a style to your argument.
Everything changes when you create impact. This may sound dramatic but it is true. Life fulfilment can change your reality and your life. If you want fulfilment, create impacts.
You want to find something that is more than just a job or even a career: It’s important to you. You want to look forward to every day at work and leisure. Make your presence felt, and missed when you are not around.
