Human being not human doing

We are human being and not human doing. My religious mind believe we are created to be a being. Yet even as we call ourselves human beings often times, we are more like human doings — rushing after what we like and trying to push away what we don’t.

There is a need for us to shift from the doing mode to the being mode. The ancient Chinese poet, Lao Tzu describe the doing mode and the being mode perfectly when he said "If you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living in the future. If you are at peace, you are living in the present." The being mode is always at peace.

A human being approach the present moment with freshness and spontaneity.

He sees in being human he is giving himself the gift of not having to go anywhere or do anything to be happy.

He will become more mindful, more generous, more patient, less criticising and condemning, more trusting.

In being, you will cultivate a stability and a calmness of mind, a flexibility in dealing with different kinds of options. As human being we will live the words of Steve Maraboli consciously, when he advised "Make the choice to embrace this day. Do not let your TODAY be stolen by the ghost of yesterday or the 'To-Do' list of tomorrow! It's inspiring to see all the wonderfully amazing things that can happen in a day in which you participate."

To be a human being, you are not denying the fact that things might be going wrong rather you are not allowing it have a right over the way you think, talk and live.

Are you a human being or a human doing?
